Liverpool has given the world some really popular stuff. There’s loads of people who’d struggle to find the city on a map but who nonetheless have heard many Beatles records, consider John Bishop droll or own a season ticket at Anfield. It’s a city with a strong sense of identity, a sense of identity that means it punches well above its weight in terms of cultural impact.

It’s no surprise, then, that the Liverpool Craft Beer Co has quickly carved out a niche for itself in the brewing world. Beers like Love Lane Pale Ale and White Fox IPA have helped the brewery establish a solid reputation in the North-West. Despite that, it’s a brewery we don’t see very much of down here in the capital - perhaps because we’ve got so many breweries of our own. It’s good news, then, that the team from the brewery will be at the Dean Swift in a couple of weeks (24th June) for ‘An Audience With …’.

Tickets for the event are £10, which secures you a taste of the LCBC range alongside some beer snacks. For tickets, ask at the bar or hassle The Dean Swift on Twitter.

Somewhat sooner - as in tonight - one of London’s very own breweries will be launching a couple of very interesting new beers. Fourpure, whose progress since 2013 has been nothing short of remarkable, will be premiering Skyliner, an American-style wheat beer, and Dry Hop Pils, which does what it says on the (500ml!) tin. The event is taking place at the superb Mother Kelly's and it all kicks off at 6pm.
