Crown and Anchor

Crown and Anchor

Every week, it seems, a new beer shrine pops up somewhere across London but few are as well-conceived as Brixton’s first serious hop den. The bar – filled as it is with handpumps and keg dispensers – is enough to make your average beer lover drool, and most of the big names of the British craft scene are represented: from Dark Star to Camden Town via Crouch Vale. The place is new enough to still smell of paint but given the calibre of the people behind it (the folks that brought you Stoke Newington’s Jolly Butchers) you can see this becoming another of London’s must-visit pubs.
