Engineer, The

The Engineer

There are two possible reasons to visit Primrose Hill: 1. The view of London. 2. The possibility you might spot someone who was famous in the nineties. The Engineer - roughly equidistant from the hill and Camden Town station - could well be reason No 3, given the decent beer selection. This is a handsome pub both outside and in, where old beer bottles from the Henri Maes brewery in Bruges live on as flower pots. The beer behind the bar is more local: expect to find Camden on keg and Redemption, Fuller's and Sambrook's on cask. There are also bottles of Brewdog. One caution: this is a gastropub in the truest sense, so even cask ales will set you back north of £4.
