Hare & Billet, The

The Hare & Billet

Genteel Blackheath feels like a bit of West Kent stranded in South-east London, so it's right that the beer served here comes from both places. The Kentish selections might include beers from Kent Brewery, Curious Brew or Gadds', while London breweries served here include The Kernel, Camden Town and Meantime. There are ten handpumps, a number of decent keg options and a smattering of high-quality bottled beers. The Hare & Billet displays all the characteristics of a middle-class beer shrine: Farrow & Ball paint job, mismatched furniture, wooden floors, high-end grub. It's an approach that works perfectly in Blackheath.
