Ivy House, The

The Ivy House

The story of this large Nunhead pub's revival would be good enough reason to pop down even if the beer was so-so, but it's a lot better than that. There's all the breweries you'd hope to find - The Kernel, Camden Town, Five Points and Truman's, whose livery decorates the outside of the pub - and plenty more besides. There are two big rooms at the back, one with a stage, and the food is what you might expect/want from a community boozer - steak, pie, chips, veggie options. One to visit wherever you live in London; for more about the pub's recent history, consult the website.
