The Royal Oak

Sorry hopheads: you won't find any muscle-bound American-style IPAs here. What you will find is perhaps the most pleasing pub interior in London (the outside looks good, too) and the beer that has been making Sussex folk a big smug for generations. Harvey's is traditional, sure, but it's very good too: there's a reason why their Sussex Best is perhaps Britain's most well-loved old-school bitter. If that doesn't appeal, how about a pint of the dark, nutty mild: apparently it's the new big thing among in-the-know craft beer lovers.
