Three Johns, The

The Three Johns

First things first: this is an absolutely gorgeous pub. There's the in-vogue dark wood floors and exposed brickwork (although this brickwork has beautiful faux-antique signage on it) but the highlight is the ceiling, which looks like tin but is apparently made of spray-painted steel and which was installed by new owners Barworks, who run a number of high-end craft-beer pubs around the city. It's beautiful - but that's enough from the Architectural Review. The beer is also impressive, with 16 on draught and more than 60 in bottle. The only criticism, really, is the paucity of cask ale - just three pumps. Expect to find Thornbridge, Camden Town, Great Heck, Lagunitas, Beavertown and many others.
